Municipal Election and Region 4 Referendum Results for Deep River

BIENNIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION and REGION 4 REFERENDUM 2021

The Biennial Municipal Election, legally warned, was held on November 2, 2021, in the Community Room of the Deep River Library from 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Craig Rogoff served as Head Moderator.  A total of 809 votes were cast, 47 of which were by absentee ballot. Election Day Registration allowed 2 residents to register and vote at the poll.   Registered voters on the November 2021 list at close of poll on Election Day totaled 3,369.  Voter turnout was 24%.  The voters were registered as follows:

Our Regional School District held a referendum in conjunction with the election.  Registered voters and non-resident property owners were eligible to vote in the referendum.  Two property owners exercised this right.  The question was approved in all three towns.

“Shall Regional School District No. 4, comprised of the Towns of Chester, Deep River and Essex, appropriate $952,053 for the cost of the John Winthrop Middle School Security Project and authorize the issuance of bonds, notes or temporary notes in an amount not to exceed $952,053 to finance the appropriation?”

Deep River:     YES- 326 / NO- 322

Chester:          YES- 446 / NO- 279

Essex:              YES- 867 / NO- 331

TOTAL:             YES- 1639 / NO- 932
