Winter Storm Parking Ban

Important Message

During the upcoming storm the Highway Department will be working to ensure our roads are passable, and to do so our plows will need all roadways, including cul-de-sacs, to be cleared of vehicles to provide access and efficient snow clearing capability. If you need to relocate your vehicle, the public parking lot behind the library will be open and available for parking during the storm.

In order to minimize the hazards caused by slippery road conditions, and to help ensure safe traveling conditions throughout the town as quickly as possible, an on-street parking ban will be in effect from 12:00 am Saturday until 12:00 am Sunday, January 29 & 30 (midnight Friday through midnight Saturday). Any vehicle parked on any public roadway during the hours of the parking ban may be towed at the owner’s expense.  The operator or owner of any vehicle parked on any public roadway shall promptly remove their vehicle whenever so ordered by authorized Town personnel or they will be towed at the owner’s expense.

The pushing of snow from private driveways into and across public streets is prohibited. This practice is dangerous and impedes the Town’s snow removal process. Homeowners are responsible for the actions of their contractors.

It is the primary goal of our public works department to ensure that town roads are passable during winter storms, which often involves drivers working long hours in hazardous conditions. We ask for your patience and cooperation during these events.

Please remember to check on your neighbors, be safe, and try and enjoy yourself.
